Hey, everyone. Welcome back to a bonus episode of the social media for mompreneurs podcast. I’m showing up today with no fancy intro, no exit music. I’m coming here to encourage you to look at Instagram reels and a totally new light I’m starting to see, or I’m seeing, starting to notice that many women entrepreneurs are reluctant, reluctant to even try Instagram reels, or they’re already annoyed by Instagram reels because they’re seeing the same thing. And what’s happening is everyone is copying what others are doing because that certain individual may have had a high reach or high engagement on their real, or it could be a popular song. Or what I’m seeing now is everyone is following the, this or that. And they’re walking in and out of the camera. I don’t know. So I’m giving you permission today to stop watching what everyone else is doing on Instagram reels.
I’m going to share with you the three key strategies to stand out on reels, to grow your reach and to get seen by your audience. And I’m going to tell you right now, the strategies aren’t having the perfect timing. It’s not about having the perfect text or pointing to text. It’s not about the perfect filter. It’s not about having the right music or even the right timing. As far as when you post your reel, I’m going to simplify for you today. My strategies to stand out on reels, it’s really quite simple. Number one, you need to use your voice. Number two, you need to show your face and number three, to execute with consistency. So let’s talk about number one, use your voice. That is how you are going to stand out in a very crowded over saturated social media platform. That is Instagram. If you want to stand out in 2021, which I’m sure you do use Instagram reels as a way to simply please use your voice.
People want to hear from you. People want to learn from you. I hate to tell you people don’t want to watch you looking at the camera, like a deer in headlights, pointing to text number one. Most of the time, there’s too much text and we don’t have time to read it. So use your super power and that super power is your voice. It is unique to you. Your personality is unique to you. So I implore you to just show up, look at your camera and use your voice. Give your audience tips. Strategies. Immediate wins encouragement because in 2021, that’s what we’re going to need. We need to hear from you. And my second strategy, we also need to see you show your face. And what I mean by that is look directly at your audience. Look at that one person that you’re speaking to look them in the eye, show yourself either from chest height up or from waist up.
Don’t be so far out of the camera that we see everything, everything around you. You’re so far off into the room that we can see what shoes you’re wearing. I want you closer to the camera and I want you to look directly to me when you’re speaking to me. So that’s number two, number three. This is really important. Execute with consistency. If you want to utilize Instagram reels to reach your audience, make an impact, get the engagement. We want the connections, right? Well, you need to do it with consistency. Now. Here’s the thing about consistency. Everyone is looking to everyone else and asking what is consistency? My friend, I’m going to tell you right now. Consistency is how you define it. You get to choose what consistency looks like for you and what it looks like for your audience. Keep your audience in mind. Instagram reels is a strategy.
If you don’t want to show up in Instagram reels each and every day, then don’t do it. Start out using it once a week. If you’d like, or maybe twice a week, but execute with consistency. So decide for yourself for the next 90 days. How are you going to utilize Instagram reels to connect with your audience, maybe for you that’s once a week. And that’s awesome. Give it a try because your audience is going to learn over time, right? They’re going to learn that over time. What to expect from you. If you’re going to show up for your audience once a week and reels for the next 90 days, you’re winning because you are executing with consistency. Instagram reels does not need to be hard. It doesn’t need to be perfect. It doesn’t need to be super sophisticated. You don’t need to look your best.
I’m sorry. We are not actors. Actresses. We are not Hollywood. We are real people connecting every day with other real people. We don’t want to come off as this super sophisticated, you know, picture perfect person. Remember why your audience connected with you in the first place, because they resonate with you because likely you mirror what they want. Right? So I, again, the three key strategies to stand out on Instagram reels. Number one, use your voice. Number two, show your face. And number three, execute with consistency. Now, if you’re still feeling very uneasy about Instagram reels, you’re not sure if you want to jump on the train, you know, you’re seeing things that you don’t like, but you’re kind of wondering, Oh, could I be reaching an audience? It is not a place for Instagram to suck your soul. I am here to give you back your control and your power over the platform. Yes, you can control your intentions in your time on the platform.
