Do THIS First to Increase Your Visibility as a Podcast Guest

Ready to get visible in front of a new audience as a podcast guest?

Before you draft your pitch, write your bio, and send an email to a podcast host, there’s one thing you should ALWAYS do first…

And that’s exactly what I’ll tell you in this quick episode.

This one little tip will help you NAIL the interview and most people don’t do it (from my experience as a host.)

Hey friend, welcome back to the show, and today it’s just me.

Ready to be a podcast guest. I think if you do this FIRST step, you are already ahead of the pack.

The FIRST step to being a Podcast Guest

Week after week, I am inundated with emails from people or even agencies, pitching to be a guest on my podcast. I have to admit, it’s super annoying and here’s why I find it annoying. As a host, I don’t have time to filter through all these emails of potential guests. Here’s the reason why it drives me crazy. It’s one of my pet peeves. I have an application process that is clearly explained on my website. So when I get an email from a potential guest or an agency pitching a guest, I know that that individual did not do their research on my website first.

That is a very big downfall because that shows you do not have a good intent to be on my show.

Do THIS first! Go to the podcast host website, and see if they have an application process to be on their show. I would say more than 50%, maybe it’s even higher, of podcasters have an application process on their website for potential guests.

If you take this very first step, you are already ahead of the pack.

Be intentional as a potential Podcast Guest

And why I think this is so important is because it shows me, it shows the podcast host that, number one, you are doing your research, and number two, you are going over and beyond to be a guest on my show because you are not sitting behind your computer, opening up your email and basically copy and pasting a pitch.

Podcast hosts can smell a copy paste pitch from a mile away. We know what they are and know the lines. We know how they begin, how they end. I highly recommend that you do not copy paste your pitches to podcast hosts.

In the next couple of weeks, I have two expert guests coming on the show to talk about podcast guesting.

And let me tell you, these two individuals are going to blow you away. They are going to help you nail the application process and get booked and be an extraordinary podcast guest on a show. That is coming soon.

All I wanted to do today is just quickly tell you before you listen to the upcoming episodes on podcast guesting, is the very first step or my number one tip when it comes to being a guest on a podcast. Make sure you go to their website first. and see if they have a podcast application.

If you go on a podcast website and you are double checking to see if they have an application process that is showing effort, that is showing intent, and I bet nine out of 10 times you are going to nail a booking on that show and get the interview that you desire.
