Today’s episode is a crazy one because I have several things to share with you, and hang out until the end, because my announcement is awesome!
First on the list – I broke up with Facebook! Yeah, I did.
So let me explain! For the past few months I have felt ‘heavy’ and I didn’t know where it was coming from. I recently read this from my Bible study:
Joy and happiness are two different things. Happiness is an emotion found in circumstances. It is temporary and pleasurable. Joy is an attitude of the heart. Joy from the Lord can be found and treasured in all circumstances.
I realized that most of the time I’m happy, but I’m not filled with Joy.
Every time I open Facebook, my newsfeed is filled with hate, anger, judgement, division, negativity and fear.
Facebook no longer serves me. No wonder my joy is fleeting.
I still check in with my groups on my laptop, but I’m super intentional. After 15 days of no Facebook app and no scrolling and I feel AMAZING! My soul feels refreshed!
If you are in a season of feeling unfulfilled or heavy…. Here’s how to figure out what to do!
The 3 A’s: Acknowledge/Access, Adjust, Action
Acknowledge those feelings and emotions and access what you’re currently doing (especially those negative or bad social media habits.)
Adjust – make tweaks or changes to your current habits
Take Action! Most important part (tell someone and ask for accountability…. My hubby is also off of FB so we hold each other accountable.)
